Fidia Farmaceutici, продолжая свой путь непрерывного роста, торжественно открывает новый инновационный цех по производству биологических препаратов и учебный центр для специализированного обучения
Investments totaling over 50 million euros enable the company to expand its production capacity and implement the most advanced technological and training solutions.
Fidia Farmaceutici, a world leader in research, development, production and marketing of innovative products based primarily on hyaluronic acid and its derivatives, today inaugurated at its headquarters in Abano Terme a new biological production unit and a training centre dedicated to the specialized training of doctors and surgeons.
The production facility, part of a broader industrial development plan, is a strategic asset for the Group, designed to expand its production capacity and strengthen its positioning in the pharmaceutical sector at a global level. The new facility, spread over several floors and with a total surface area of 3,500 square metres, was built thanks to an investment of around €50 million, once again confirming Fidia Farmaceutici’s commitment to process innovation and industrial efficiency.
The new facilities can be used to produce biological products such as enzymes, hormones, blood products, monoclonal antibodies, serums, vaccines and immunoglobulin, which play an increasingly important role in meeting modern therapeutic needs.
The new production complex is the cutting edge of technological innovation in the pharmaceutical industry. State-of-the-art automation technologies have been implemented here, and the entire project meets the highest standards in technology and quality in accordance with the latest international regulatory requirements for the production of biological products.
By implementing environmentally friendly solutions, including the use of liquid nitrogen instead of traditional refrigeration units and the rationalisation of the volumes of sterile zones, it is also envisaged to reduce energy consumption by 30% compared to today’s standards.
This project, which is conceived as scalable and highly innovative, has already begun recruiting new qualified employees for highly specialized positions, who will join the team and add to the company’s scientific and technical background.
In addition to the new production facility, Fidia is also opening its new training centre, a modern, high-tech facility for first-class training for doctors and surgeons. The centre aims to enhance the role of training through direct observation of clinical procedures, transmitted directly in real time from one or more operating rooms equipped with an advanced system of high-definition cameras integrated into the instruments and on the operating table.
The opening of the training centre will be entrusted to ophthalmology specialists, who will be able to attend surgeries in a cutting-edge multimedia room designed to provide an immersive and highly educational experience. In addition, this first specialised area will also have an ophthalmology dry lab equipped with the latest generation of simulators for practicing cataract and retinal surgical skills. It is a comfortable, safe and ethical method that integrates theoretical and observational training with direct experience in a high-tech context.
The training centre is the first step in a larger project that will gradually expand into other therapeutic areas with the aim of creating an interdisciplinary environment that keeps pace with the development of medical practice and making the area a cutting-edge training complex that welcomes professionals from all over the world.
This project is one of the stages of a long-term plan to confirm Fidia’s concrete efforts to help doctors, and also includes the organization of an ever-growing number of major training events (such as the Fidia Academy) on the company’s premises, offering innovative tools and opportunities for professional development that meet the challenges of modern medicine and enhance the importance of the region and its resources.
The opening was attended by numerous officials, including the President of the Veneto Region, Luca Zaia , the Mayor of Abano Terme, Federico Barbierato , and the President of Confindustria Veneto Est, Paola Carrone , whose contribution was fundamental to ensuring that the project was completed on time.
«With this investment, we are strengthening a cutting-edge industrial complex that combines efficiency, sustainability and innovation, meeting the highest international standards,» said Carlo Pizzocaro, President and CEO of Fidia Farmaceutici. « This is an important step in our growth path, confirming our commitment to consolidating our authority and competitiveness. Along with production innovation, we also wanted to make a significant contribution to training, as we believe that the development of competencies is an integral strategic component in facing the challenges of the future and contributing to the improvement of scientific and clinical culture at a global level.»
“This project took around six years to complete, involving hundreds of highly qualified professionals and an investment of over 50 million euros,” added Rossella Pellizzari, Director of Fidia’s Abano Terme plant. “It is a concrete step towards innovation, with the aim of achieving tomorrow’s production excellence today.”
